India beat Sri Lanka convincingly by 7 wicket in the 3rd ODI and have taken a very important 2-1 lead in the 5 match series on Monday, 21st December, 2009 at Cuttack. Sri Lanka made 239 all out in 44.2 overs while India made 242/3 in 42.4 overs.

Sri Lanka got a flying start by Dilshan (41) and Tharanga (73) put 65 runs in 6 overs and they were very good position with 165-1 in 22 overs but they lost 9 wickets for 74 runs and all out on just 239 runs due to brilliant bowling by Hadeja who took 4 wickets for 32 runs.

India then started well as Sehwag played his usual inning of 28 balls 44 runs and then Tendulkar played an anchor inning of unbeaten 96 runs just missed one more century and ensured an easy win.

Sri Lanka - 239 all out in 44.2 overs (Tharanga 73, Sangakkara 46, RA Jadeja 4-32)

India - 242/3 in 42.4 overs (Tendulkar* 96, V Sehwag , KD Karthik* 36)

Tendulkar's 45th ODi century took India very close to a remarkable victory but it was so near so far as India lost the 5th ODI by 3 runs against Australia on Thursday, 5th November, 2009 at Hyderabad.

Australia made 350/4 in 50 overs thanks to Shaun Marsh century and India needed just 19 runs in last 18 balls with4 wicketsin hand and Sachin and Jadeja was batting when Tendulkar got out and team collapsed once again. Tendulkar made 175 runs of just 141 balls with 19 fours and 4 sixes.

India finally break the jinx of loosing in the finals and won the Compaq Cup against Sri Lanka by 46 runs in a high scoring thriller on Monday, 14th September, 2009 at Colombo. India made a huge total of 319/5 in 50 overs and SL all out on 273 runs in 46.4 overs.

India won the toss and opted to bat first put 95 runs for the 1st wicket by Tendulkar and Dravid (38), Sachin then put 110 runs with Dhoni (56) and then 71 runs with Yuvraj (56 of 41 balls). Sachin Tendulkar hit his 43rd ODI century with 138 runs of 133 ball with 10 fours and a six.

Sri Lanka also got a good start by Jayasuriya and Dilshan but Harbhajan Singh took 2 wickets and put them on back foot but Kandamby made a fighting 66 runs and put some resistance. Harbhajan Singh took 5 wickets.

Match Summary:

India - 319/5 in 50 overs (Tendulkar 138, Dhoni 56, Yuvraj 56, Thushara 72-2)

Sri Lanka - 273 all out in 46.4 overs (Kandamby 66, Harbhajan 56-5)

India scored 375 runs at the stump of day 1 against New Zealand in the 3rd and final test math against New Zealand on Fiday, 3rd April, 2009 at at Basin Reserve, Wellington. Tendulkar, Dhoni and Harbhajan scored half centuries. Tendulkar also contributed 62 runs of just 5 balls with 11 fours as tailenders score 175 runs.

India started well with 1st wicket stand of 73 runs between Sehwag and Gambhir and they were 165/2 at one stage but 3 quick wickets put them on back foot. But a 79 runs 7th wicket partnership between Harbhajn and Dhoni scored 60 and 52 runs respectively put India back in the game

New Zealand took control at one stage bot lost momentum in the end. Martin took 3 wicket as Southee and O'Brien took 2 wickets each.

India finally ended the 33 years drought of winning a test match in New Zealand as they won the first test match by 10 wickets on the 4th day of the match at Hamilton on Saturday, 21st March, 2009. India now leading the 3 match series by 1-0.

New Zealand started the 4th day, trailing by 166 runs from India's 1st inning with 7 wickets in hand. They were in danger of inning defeat due to wicket falls at regular intervals but 76 runs 9th wicket partnership between McCullum and O'Brien, scored 84 runs and 21 runs helped them pass India's total. They all out on the same score of 1st inning 279 and gave a target of 39 runs.

Harbhajan took 6 wickets, his best figures oversease. India reached the target of 39 runs in 32 balls with lot of fours from Gambhir and Dravid scored 30 and 8 runs respectively.

India started their inning slowly on the 2nd day of the 1st test match against New Zealand, scored 249 runs with the loss of 4 wickets and ended the day on 278/4, trailing by just 1 run with 6 wickets remaining, on Thursday, 19th March, 2009 at Hamilton.

Sachin Tendulkar hit his first century in New Zealand as India beat New Zealand by 58 runs in a high scoring game at Christchurch on Sunday, 8th March, 2009 and take a 2-0 lead in 5 match series. India scored 392/4 in 50 overs and bowled out New Zealand on 334 in 45.1 overs.

India batting first reduced to 65/2 but a superb batting display by Sachin Tendulkar and Yuraj Singh put 138 runs partnership in 16 overs. Tendukar was retired hurt after 163 runs off 133 balls with 16 fours and 5 sixes, Yuraj scored 87 off 60 balls with 10 fours and 6 sixes. Dhoni and Raina also contributed well with 68 off 58 balls and 38 off just 18 balls.

New Zealand Started brilliantly with a 166 runs first wicket partnership in just 22 overs by Ryder and McCullum with 105 runs off 80 balls with 12 fours and 4 sixes and 71 off 68 balls. But they lost 8 wickets for 95 runs and struggling but Mills and Southee put 83 runs for and scared India one stage.

In one of the most memorable and great inning by Sachin Tendulkar, his 41st tset century helps India to register a famous and historic win in the first test match against England at Chennai on Monday, 15th December, 2008. Tendulkar along with Yuraj who scored unbeaten 85 runs chased 287 runs in the 4th inning on 5th and final day of the match.

India moved away the fiery start given by Sehwag yesterday and started the 5th day with the fall of two quick wickets of Dravid failed again and Gambhir scored valuable 66 runs. Match was evenly poised when Laxman out and India still needed 163 runs with 6 wickets remaining.

But an unbeaten 5th wicket 163 runs partnership between Tendulkar and Yuraj set a historic win for India as it was the 4th highest 2nd inning chase by any team.

Tendulkar played a very composed inning on his way to 41st hundred 103 not out off 196 balls with 9 fours while Yuraj made 85 not out off 131 balls with 8 fours and a six on his comeback test.

Tendulkar finally hit a century after a long time on the first day of the fourth and final test match against Australia at Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground, Nagpur. India were 311 for 5 at the stumps of day 1.

Tendulkar hit his 4oth test century in the final session of the day scored 109 runs off 188 balls with 12 fours. India won the toss and elected to bat first and got a cracking start as Sehwag and M Vijay put 98 runs in 18 overs.

Sehwag scored 66 runs off 69 balls with 9 fours and 1 six. VVS Laxman playing his 100th test scored 64 runs and put a 146 runs for the third wicket with Tendulkar.

John Krejza took 3 crucial wicket on his debut and make Australia in the math after a good start by India. Australia have to play well tomorrow in order to stay in the match.
