Australia v New Zealand 2011 Cricket World Cup Photos - Mitchel Johnson Man of the Match

Australia crushed New Zealand by 7 wickets with 16 overs remaining in the 8th match of 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup and got the top spot in Group A. Mitchel Johnson got Man of the Match for his 4 wickets for 33 runs.

Defending champions Australia easily beat neighbors New Zealand by 7 wickets with 96 balls remaining in a Group A 8th match of 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, in the 1st game of Friday, 25th February, 2011 at Nagpur.

Australian fast bowlers bowled out New Zealand on 206 runs in 45.1 overs as only Nathan McCullum able to made 52 runs as Johnson and Tait 4 and 3 wickets respectively. Australian openers Watson 62, and Haddin 55 put 131 runs to avoid any drama.

Match Summary:

New Zealand - 206 all out in 45.1 overs (N McCullum 52, Johnson 4-33, Tait 3-35)

Australia - 207/3 in 34 overs (Watson 62, Haddin 55, Vettori 2-39)

Toss - Australia won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Result - Australia won by 7 wickets (with 96 balls remaining)

Ceat International Cricket Aeard - Gambhir Cricketer of the year, Sehwag ODI Batsman


Indian in form batsman Gautam Gambhir won the International cricketer of the year as well as test batsman of the year award in a gala event of Ceat International cricket Awards on Sunday, 29th November, 2009 at Mumbai.

Gambhir scored 4 consecutive centuries in last 4 matches and he is in great form during 2008-09 season. Hard hitter nad Gamghir's opening partner Virender Sehwag won the ODI batsman of the year award.

Australian Mitchel Johnson won the test bowler of the year award while Sri Lankan spinner Ajantha Mendis won the ODI Bowler of the year award.

Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh won a special award by taking 300 test wickets. Sri Lanka batsman Thilan Samaraweera who got injured in the Lahore terror attack in March won the International Spirit of Cricket award.

Lifetime Achievement award has given to EAS Prasanna of India by cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar.
