India v West Indies 1st Test Match Photo Highligts - Rahul Dravid Man of the Match

India won the 1st test match by 63 runs in fighting contest and takes a crucial 1-0 lead in the 3 match series. Praveen Kumar and Ishant Sharma took 6 wickets each in the match while Rahul Dravid got Man of the Match for his match winning 112 runs in the 2nd inning.

In a thrilling low scoring 1st test match no.1 team India beat struggling West Indies by 63 runs on the fourth day of the match on Thursday, 23rd June, 2011 at Sabina Park, Jamaica.

Fourth day started with the match even as India needed 7 wickets and West Indies required 195 more runs on the difficult pitch as Bravo and Chanderpaul playing. Praveen Kumar took both the batsmen early as Bravo out on 41 and Chanderpaul on 30 runs and soon they reduced to 150/6. Sammy 25 and Rampaul 34 runs put some fight but didn't last too long. Praveen and Ishant Sharma took 3 wickets each while Amit Mishra took 2 wickets.

Rahul Dravid got Man of the Match for his brilliant 112 runs in the 2nd inning on difficult pitch.

Match Summary:

India 1st inning - 246 all out in 61.2 overs (Raina 82, Harbhajan 70, Edward 4-56, Rampaul 3-59)

West Indies 1st inning - 173 all out in 67.5 overs (Barath 64, Ishant 3-29, Praveen 3-38)

India 2nd inning - 252 all out in 94.5 overs (Dravid 112, Sammy 4-52, Bishoo4-65)

West Indies 2nd inning - 262 all out in 68.2 overs (Bravo 41, Ishant 3-81, Praveen 3-42)

Toss - India won the toss, who chose to bat first.

Man of the Match - Rahul Dravid (India)

Result - West Indies won by 63 runs.

Series - India led the 3 match series by 1-0.

Ind vs NZL 3rd Test 3rd Day review - Dravid's 191 runs set a lead of 373 runs, NZL 24/1 in 2nd inning

Rahul Dravid missed his 6th double century while Dhoni missed his 5th test century but India took control of the third and final test with 373 runs lead in the first inning and also took 1 wicket of New Zealand at the stumps of day 3. New Zeakand has tough task ahead with 2 days to go and trailing by 349 runs with 9 wickets remaining.

Sachin Tendulkar missed his 50th test century but Rahul Dravid marched on slowly to his century and after that he and Dhoni accelerate the inning and took the match away from New Zealand. Dhoni was cramping and soon out on 98 runs while Dravid scored 191 runs and soon after India declared their inning on 566/8 with the lead of 373 runs.

So watch out for the 4th day as India will try to win the test as well as series.

India registered their 100th test win with a style as they won the 2nd test match by an inning and 144 runs on the 4th day itself on Friday, 27th November, 2009 at Kanpur. Sreesanth won the Man of the Match award. India is leading the 3 match series by 1-0.

India needed six wickets on the 4th day and started well with Mathew gone early but Prasanna and Samarweera put 61 runs before Mendis gave frustraion with his 75 ball innings. Samarweera left with short of partners as he was not out on 78 runs.

Match Summary:

India 1st Inning - 642 all out in 154 overs (Sehwag 131, Gambhir 167, Dravid 144, Herath 5-121)

Sri Lanka 1st Inning - 229 all out in 84 overs (Jayawardhane 47, Sreesanth 5-75)

Sri Lanka 12nd Inning - 269 all out in 65.3 overs (Samarweera 78, Harbhajan 3-98)

Result - India won by an innings and 144 runs

Ind v SL 1st Test 1st Day Score - Dravid's unbeaten 177 and Dhoni's 110 helpd India made 385/6



"The Wall" - Rahul Dravid brought back India from a deep trouble from 32/4 and helped theteam to finish the 1st day on 385/6 with unbeaten 177 runs with 26 fours and a six on Monday, 16th November, 2009 at Motera, Ahmedabad.

India were struggling on 32-4 with Gambhir, Sehwag, Tendulkar and Laxman were all back in the pavillion and then Dravid put 125 runs for the 5th wicket with Yuvraj who svore 68 runs and then
224 runs with captain Dhoni who also hit a brilliant century 110 runs with 10 fours and a six.

Rahul Dravid, former Indian captain come back in ODI squad after almost 2 years as Indian selectors announced ODI team for tri-series in Sri Lanka including New Zealand and for Champions Trophy in South Africa. Opener Sehwag has not been included in the team as he is not fully recovered from his injury while Rohit Sharma not included due to his poor form.

Sachin Tendulkar returned in the team after rested for West Indies series. Amit Mishra is back in team in place of Pragyan Ojha while Zaheer Khan not considered due to injury.

India started their inning slowly on the 2nd day of the 1st test match against New Zealand, scored 249 runs with the loss of 4 wickets and ended the day on 278/4, trailing by just 1 run with 6 wickets remaining, on Thursday, 19th March, 2009 at Hamilton.

India started the 2nd day from 29/0 and lost Sehwag early but 105 runs 2nd wicket partnership between Gambhir and Dravid put India back on the track. Dravid scored 66 runs while Gambhir contributed 72 runs. At the stumps of day2 Tendulkar was playing on 70 along with Yuraj on 8 runs.

For New Zealand only Martin took 2 wickets while all others bowlers are ineffective and they have to take wickets tomorrow to restrict Indian for a huge lead

New Zealand won the 2 match T20 series by 2-0 but India bounced back and won the 5 match ODI series by 3-1. Now both team shifting their momentum to longest version of the game as 1st test will be played from Wednesday, 18th March to Sunday, 22nd March, 2009 at Hamilton.

Test specialist Rahul Dravid and VVs Laxman will come back in theIndian team to strengthen the middle order while M Vijay will give more opening option other than Gambhir and Sehwag. L Balaji and spinner Amit Mishra will be new bowling options.

After loosing ODI series New Zealand is looking for some pride and regained some pride after a consolation win in the last ODI. James Franklin after a long injury has been included in the team as an all rounder.

Hamilton wicket will seam initially and 1st 2-3 hour will be crucial.
