2011 BCCI Awards - Tendulkar and Salim Durrani felicitated

BCCI has awarded lifetime achievement award to former Indian allrounder Salim Durrani, who helped shape India's maiden Test win in the West Indies in 1971 in the 2011 BCCI Awards function in Mumbai on 31st May.

Sachin Tendulkar, who scored 1,064 runs in ten Tests at an average of 82.00, also scored first ever double hundred in one-day cricket has named Indian Cricketer of the year.

Manish Pandey, Karnataka's batsman picked up the best batsman in domestic cricket award, having scored 882 runs in nine Ranji Trophy matches, while fast bowler Abhimanyu Mithun, who claimed 47 wickets in the competition, declared best bowler.

India v Pakistan 2011 Cricket World Cup 2nd SF Photos - Tendulkar Man of Match

In a high profile 2nd Sei-Final of 2011 CWC, which was watched by Prime Ministers, Manmohan Singh & Yusuf Raza Gilani, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and bollywood film stars, India beat Pakistan by 29 runs in a close match to reach the final where they meet Sri Lanka on 2nd April, 2011. Sachin Tendulkar got Man of the Match for his 85 runs.

IND v PAK 2011 CWC 2nd SF Result - India v Sri Lanka Final, beat Pakistan by 29 runs


India maintained their winning streak in the World Cup against bitter Rivals as they beat Pakistan in the high profile 2nd Semi-Final, by 29 runs in a thriller on Wednesday, 30th March, at Mohali to reach in the dream Final at home against Sri Lanka on Saturday, 2nd April, 2011.

India got a great start by openers Sehwag 38 and Tendulkar put 48 runs in 6 overs and they were on top with 116-1 in 19 overs but Wahab took 2 wickets in 2 balls to push them on back foot. India some how managed 260/9 in 50 overs thanks to Tendulkar's 85 runs and Raina's unbeaten 36 runs. Wahab Riaz bowled brilliantly with 5 wickets haul.

Pakistan got a decent start with 44 runs with Hafeez hit 43 runs but regular wickets will never allowed to come on top as all the 5 bowlers Zaheer, Nehra, Munaf, Harbhajan and Yuvraj bolwed brilliantly and took 2 wickets each. Misbah tried hard with 56 runs but didn't get any support from others.

Match Summary:

India - 260/9 in 50 overs (Tendulkar 85, Sehwag 38, Wahab 5-46)

Pakistan - 231 all out in 49.5 overs (Misbah 56, Hafeez 43, Nehra 2-33, Muna 2-40)

Toss - India won the toss and elected to bat first.

Result - India won by 29 runs

India v England 2011 Cricket World Cup Photos - Andrew Strauss Man of the Match

What a thrilling match it was between India and England in the 2011 CWC which has been tied at 338 runs. Sachin Tendulkar hit 5th world cup century while Andrew Strauss got Man of the Match for his brilliant 158 runs.

In a high scoring nailbiting thriller match between India and England has been tied on the last ball of the 11th match of 2011 Cricket World Cup, and regain the top spot in Group B, on Sunday, 27th February, 2011 at Bengaluru.

India got a good start by Sehwag and Tendulkar who hit his 5th World Cup century, most in the world cup with 120 runs with10 fours and 5 sixes and well supported by Gambhir 51 and Yuvraj Singh 58 runs. Tim Brensen took 5 wickets on a flat pitch.

England got even a better start with 68 runs in 9 overs and then Strauss who hit 158 runs off 145 balls with 18 fours and 1 six and Bell 69 runs took the match away but Zaheer Khan took 2 wickets in 2 balls to come back in the match. England needed 29 runs in the last match with 3 wickets and managed 28 runs to level the match.

What a match.....

India - 338 all out in 49.5 overs (Tendulkar 120, Yuvraj 65, Gambhir 51, Brensen 5-48)

England - 338/8 in 50 overs (Strauss 158, Bell 69, Zaheer 3-64)

India announced their strong 16-member one day squad for upcoming 5 match ODI series against South Africa as this is the last series before ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. Sachin Tendulkar is back after scored 200 runs at Gwalior in February.

M Vijay, Rohit Sharma and Saurabh Tiwary left out with the arrival of big names while Yusuf Pathan has been picked up ahead of Ravinder Jadeja after good show in last series.

Piyush Chawla is the only is the only new name who played last game in 2008 while R Ashwin has retained his place .
