India won 2nd Test by an inning 58 runs, Retain No 1 Test Ranking, Serie drawn 1-1, Aamla Man of the Match and Series
After much drama on the fifth and final day of 2nd test match, India won by an inning and 58 runs just nefore the 2 overs left in the match to over and retained their no. 1 test ranking on Thursday, 18th February, 2010 at the famous Eden Gardens, Kolkata. 2 match series between India and South Africa drawn 1-1.
India needed 7 wickets on the final day and they took 3 wickets easily but Aamla, Indias's main rival in the series shown great resistance as he put 70 runs partnership in 24 overs with Parnell and then almost saved the match with 26 runs for the last wicket with Morkel in 20.4 overs.
Crowd gone mad when Harbhajan Singh took the last wicket of Morkel when only 2 overs left in the match and left Hashim Aamla out of partner at other end as he was unbeaten on 123 runs and played 394 balls.
Hashim Aamla got Man of the Match for centuries in both the inning and also got Man of the Series for 490 run at an average 490.00 with 3 centuries in 3 innings.
