IND v NZL 5th ODI Result - India won by 8 wickets, won series by 5-0, Yuv MOM, Gambhir MOS



India won the 5th and final ODI against New Zealand easily by 8 wickets in only 21.1 overs and make a clean sweep by winning the series by 5-0 on Friday, 10th December, 2010 at Chennai. NZL all out 103 in 27 overs and IND made 107/2 in 21.1 overs.

New Zealand all out cheaply thanks to tight bowling by spinners as R Ashwin took 3 wickets while Nehra, Pathan and Yuvraj took 2 wickets each. India then lost 2 early wickets but Parthiv Patel 56* and Yuvraj 42* complete the match with 173 balls remaining.

Yuvraj Singh got Man of the Match for his 2 wickets and unbeaten 42 runs while Gautam Gambhir got man of the Series for scoring 329 runs at an average of 109.66 with 2 centuries.

Match Summary:

New Zealand - 103 all out in 27 overs (Ashwin 3-24, Yuvraj 2-5, Patahn 2-11)

India - 107/2 in 21.1 overs (Parthiv 56*, Yuvraj 42*)

Toss - New Zealand, who chose to bat first.

Man of the Series - Gautam Gambhir (India)

Result - India won by 8 wickets (with 173 balls remaining)

Series - India led the 5 match series by 5-0.

Indian Team, Squad for ODI Series - Tendulkar, Sehwag rested, Dhawan, Tiwary in

Indian selectors announced the 14-member weak team for the upcoming 3 match ODI series against Australia starting from Sunday, 17th October, 2010. Sachin Tendulkar, Harbhajan, Zaheer Khan and Pragyan Ojha have been rested while both regular openers Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag have been left out along with Ishant Sharma due to injuries.

Mumbai Indian's and Delhi's batsman Shikhar Dhawan, who scored century in the Challengers Trophy this week has been included for the first time and will probably open the inning with M Vijay. Jharkhand's Saurabh Tiwary also included along with Tamil Nadu's in-form spinner R Ashwin and Karnataka pacer Vinay Kumar.
