SRL v ZIM 2010 CWC 26th Match Result - Dilshan stars in Sri Lanka's 139 runs win


Co-host Sri Lanka comfortably beat Zimbabwe 139 runs in the 26th match of 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, and moves on top in Group A on Thursday, 10th March, 2011 at Pallekelle.

Sri Lankan openers Dilshan and Tharanga created a new World Cup record with the 282 runs for the opening wicket hit 144 runs and 133 runs respectively and made 327/6 in 50 overs. Zimbabwe also got a good start with 116 runs Johnson made 80 runs but fquick wickets took the match away as Dilshan took 4 wickets for 4 runs.

IND v NED 2011 CWC 25th Match Result - Yuvraj stars in 5 wicke win


India becomes the first team to qualify for the Quarter-finals of the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, after their comfortable 5 wicket win over Netherlands with 81 balls remaining on Wednesday, 9th March, 2011 at Delhi.

Netherlands got a slow but good start with a 56 runs stand but then lost quick wickets against spinner as Piyush, and Yuvraj got 2 wickets each while Zaheer took 3 wickets with the old ball.

India got a flying start by Tendulkar 27 and Sehwag 39 scored 69 runs in 7.3 overs but soon reduced to 99/4 in order to score quickly as Seelaar took 3 wickets and once again Yuvraj finished the game with unbeaten 51 runs.

PAK v NZL 2011 CWC 24th Match Result - Taylor fiery century helps New Zealand won by 110 runs


New Zealand took a perfect revenge of their home series defeat by the hands of Pakistan when they won the 25th match of 2011 Cricket World Cup, by 110 runs on Tuesday, 8th March, 2011 at Pallekelle.

Pakistan were in total control of 46 overs of New Zealand's inning with 210/6 but scored 92 runs in last 4 overs to made 302/7 thanks to brilliant inning of birthday boy Ross Taylor hit unbeaten 131 runs off 124 balls with 8 fours and 7 sixes. Pakistan then reduced to 125/8 in 32.4 overs as Southee took 3 wickets while Mills and Nathan McCullum took 2 wickets each, before Razzaq 62 and Gul 34* put 64 runs for the 9th wickets.

CAN v KEN 2011 23rd Match Result - Canada won by 5 wickets, Ashish Bagai hit 64*


In a battle to avoid bottom spot in the points table in Group A, Canada beat Kenya by 5 wickets with 27 balls remaining in the 23rd match of 2011 Cricket World Cup, on Monday, 7th March, 2011 at Delhi.

Kenya started poorly, lost 3-27 and wickets at regular intervals unable to move the tempo but somehow manged 198 runs as Mishra and Odoyo 51 runs each. Canada also struggling at 48-3 but 132 runs partnership between Hansra 70 runs and captain Ashish Bagai 64 not out helps to register their first win in world cup.

IND v IRE 2011 CWC 22nd Match Result - Yuvraj stars in 5 wicket win against fighting Ireland


Ireland put another fighting performance, but didn't cross the line as India won by with 5 wickets 24 balls remaining and moves on top in Group B with 5 points in the 22nd match of 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup at Bengaluru on Sunday, 6th March 2011.

Ireland invited to bat first lost 2 early wickets but Porterfield 75 runs and Nial O'Brien 46 put 113 runs for the 3rd wicket and then Yuvraj took 5 wickets to restrict them on 207 runs.

India also lost 2 wickets early then Tendulkar 38 runs and Kohli 34 put them back on track. But few quick wickets again troubled them and Yuvraj again comes to rescue with well timed unbeaten 50 runs and Yusuf Pathan hit few sixes in the end to release pressure with 30 not out runs.

SAF v ENG 2011 CWC 21st Match Result - England won by 6 runs in a thriller


In a low scoring thriller England beat South Africa by just 6 runs in the 21st match of 2011 Cricket World Cup, in Group B in the 1st game of Sunday, 6th March, 2011 at Chennai.

England restricted to 171 runs in 45.5 overs thanks to Petersen and Imran Tahir took 3 & 4 wickets respectively as only Trott 52 runs and Bopara 60 runs put some fight. South Africa got a good start by Smith and Amla 42 but wickets at regular intervals built the tension and England were favorite when SAF 7 down at 127 runs but Steyn and van Wyk put 32 runs to come back in the match, and then Stuart Broad took 2 wickets in an over to clinch a thrilling win, finished 4-15.

England - 171 all out in 45.5 overs (Trott 52, Bopara 60, Imran 4-38, Petersen 3-22)

SRL v AUS 2011 CWC 20th Match Result - Match called off due to Rain after 32.5 overs


Much awaited match between last time world cup finalists Australia and Sri Lanka has been called off due to rain after 32.5 overs and both the teams share the points in the 20th match of 2011 Cricket world cup on Saturday, 5th March, 2011 at Colombo.

Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first and lost early wickets but Sangakkara 73 runs and Samarweera 34 runs put 71 runs for the 4th wicket and were 146/3 before rain started.

PAK v CAN 2011 CWC 17th Match Result - Pakistan won by 46 runs as Afridi took 5 wickets


Shahid Afridi is doing wonder as he again took 5 wickets and helps Pakistan defended small total of 184 runs and won the match by 46 runs against Canada in the 17th match of 2011 Cricket World Cup on Thursday, 3rd March, 2011 at Colombo.

Canada bowled well and restricted Pakistan to 184 all out in 43 overs as only in-form Misbah hit 48 runs and Baidwan took 3 wickets. Canada started cautiously and they were in a good position 104-3 but Afridi again done magic with his bowling and took 5 wickets for 23 runs.

South Africa moves on top in Group B with a huge 231 runs win over Netherlands in the 16th match of 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup on Thursday, 3rd March, 2011 at Mohali.

Hashim Amla 113 runs and AB de Villiers 134 runs off just 98 balls with 13 fours and 4 sixes continues their good form and JP Duminy hit 15 balls 40 runs to set a huge total of 351/5. Netherlands then bowled out on 120 runs in 34.5 overs as Steyn toook 3 wickets.

ENG v IRE 2011 CWC 15th Match Result - Ireland chased higest rusn in WC history


Minnows Ireland successfully chased 327 runs, highest run chase in the Cricket World Cup history, would you believe this...?, Yes Ireland have done it, they made 329/7 chasing England's 327 runs with 5 balls remaining in the 15th match of 2011 Cricket World Cup in Group B game on Wednesday, 2nd Marc, 2011 at Bangalore.

Bangalore is the same ground where England just missed to create history against India when tey tied at 338 runs but today they were on the reverse side and Ireland shocked them with a big chase. England made 327/8 in 50 overs thanks to Trott 92, Bell 81 and Pietersen 59 runs. But Ireland have other plans as they chased and O'Brien played a fiery inning of 63 balls 113 runs with 13 fours and 6 sixes.

SRL v KEN 2011 CWC 14th Match Result - Malinga's hat-trick helps Sri Lanka win by 9 wickets


Co-host Sri Lanka registered a huge win of 9 wickets with 188 balls remaining against Kenya in the 14th match of 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, on Tuesday, 1st March, 2011 at Colombo.

Kenya got the best start of the tournament and they were 102-2 and looking for 200+ runs but Lasith Malinga took 6 wickets including a hat-trick and bowled out on 142 runs. Sri Lanka then completed the task in just 18.4 overs as Tharanga hit unbeaten 67 runs and git the top spot in Group A.

IND v ENG 2011 CWC 11th Match Result - Match Tied after Strauss hit 158 runs


In a high scoring nailbiting thriller match between India and England has been tied on the last ball of the 11th match of 2011 Cricket World Cup, and regain the top spot in Group B, on Sunday, 27th February, 2011 at Bengaluru.

India got a good start by Sehwag and Tendulkar who hit his 5th World Cup century, most in the world cup with 120 runs with10 fours and 5 sixes and well supported by Gambhir 51 and Yuvraj Singh 58 runs. Tim Brensen took 5 wickets on a flat pitch.

England got even a better start with 68 runs in 9 overs and then Strauss who hit 158 runs off 145 balls with 18 fours and 1 six and Bell 69 runs took the match away but Zaheer Khan took 2 wickets in 2 balls to come back in the match. England needed 29 runs in the last match with 3 wickets and managed 28 runs to level the match.

PAK v SRL 2011 CWC 10th Match Result - Misbah and Afridi stars in aiktsn's 11 runs win


In a high scoring thriller underdog Pakistan beat home favorite Sri Lanka by 11 runs on Saturday, 26th February, 2011 at Colombo. Pakistan is now leading the points table in Group A.

Pakistan got a good start and 108 runs partnership between Younus Khan and Misbah put them in strong position with 72 and 83 runs respectively. They were at position to made 300+ runs at one stage but Sri Lankan bowler restricted them to 277.

Sri Lanka got even a better start with 76-0 but soon reduced to 96/4 as Afridi and Akhtar bowled well. Sangakkara 49 runs and Silva 57 runs put some fight but wickets at regular intervals derail them as Shahid Afridi again took 4 wickets.

In a low scoring match co-host Bangladesh beat minnows Ireland by 27 runs in the Group B 9th match of 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, in the 2nd match of Friday, 25th February, 2011 at Mirpur.

Bangladesh bowled out on 205 runs despite good start by Tamin Iqbal with 44 runs in 43 balls as Dockrell took 2 wickets for 23 runs. Ireland then lost regular wickets as Shafiul Islam bowled well and took 4 wickets.

AUS v NZL 2011 CWC 8th Match Result - Bowlers helps Australia won by 7 wickets


Defending champions Australia easily beat neighbors New Zealand by 7 wickets with 96 balls remaining in a Group A 8th match of 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, in the 1st game of Friday, 25th February, 2011 at Nagpur.

Australian fast bowlers bowled out New Zealand on 206 runs in 45.1 overs as only Nathan McCullum able to made 52 runs as Johnson and Tait 4 and 3 wickets respectively. Australian openers Watson 62, and Haddin 55 put 131 runs to avoid any drama.

SAF v WI 2011 CWC 7th Match Result - South Africa won by 7 wickets, de Villiers hit century


Title favorite South Africa easily beat West Indies by 7 wickets with 43 balls remaining in the 7the match of 2011 Cricket World Cup on Thursday, 24th February, 2010 at Dlehi.

South Africa started with spinner and got Gayle in the first over then Bravo made a fighting 73 runs but all other all are failed and they collapsed 209/5 to 222 all out as debutant Imran Tahir took 4 wickets. South Africa also lost Amla and Kallis quickly but Smith 45 and de Villiers put 119 runs. Duminy 42 not out and ABD hit unbeaten century with 107* runs off 105 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes.

PAK v KEN 2011 WC 6th Match Result - Umar Akmal & Afridi stars in Pakistan's 205 runs win


In an one sided match Pakistan easily beat minnows Kenya by 205 runs in the 6th match of 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, on Wednesday, 23rd February, 2011 at Hambantota. PAK made 317/7 in 50 overs and KEN all out 112 in 33.1 overs.

Pakistan lost 2 early wickets and then Kamran Akmal 55 and Younus Khan 50 built a solid platform for Misbah 65 and Umar Akmal who made 71 runs off 52 balls with 8 fours and 1 six to set a huge total of 317/7. Kenya then startd well with 37 runs stand but soon collapsed to 112 thanks to 5 wicket haul of captain Shaid Afridi for just 16 runs.

AUS v ZIM 2011 CWC 4th Match Result - Fast bowlers setup 91 runs win for Australia


Australia started their World cup title defend with a 91 runs win over Zimbabwe in the 4th match of 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup on Monday, 21st February, 2011 at Ahmedabad.

Australia got a slow start due to tight bowling by Zimbabwean bowlers, manged only 60 runs in 15 overs but Shane Watson 79 runs and 58 not out bt Clarke helps them set a competitive total of 262 runs. Then fast bowlers Johnson and Tait took 4 and 2 wickets respectively and bowled out Zimbabwe on 171 runs.

Mahela Jayawardhane hit 80 balls century, fastest by any Sri Lanka in a World Cup as they registered a huge win of 210 runs against minnows Canada in the 4th match of 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup on Sunday, 20th February, 2011 at Hambantota.

Dilshan has given a perfect start with half century and then Sangakkara 92 runs and Jayawardhane 100 runs setup a huge total f 332/7 in 50 overs. Kukasekara and Perera took 3 wickets each and bowled out Canada on 122 runs in 36.5 overs.
