IND v WI 4th OD Result - Pollard and Martin stars in West Indies first win by 103 runs


In the dead rubber 4th one day, host West Indies finally won a match when they beat India by 103 runs on Monday, 13th June, 2011 at Antigua. WI made 249/8 in 50 overs and IND all out on 146 runs in 39 overs.

West Indies again invited to bat first made a similar kind of score 249/8 thanks to in form Sammy's 67 runs and return to the form Pollard who hit 70 runs off 72 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes while Baugh contributed with 39 runs. Praveen Kumar took 3 wickets.

India also lost new comer Manoj Tiwary early however struggling at 82/4 in 21 overs and soon all the top order gone in the pavilion including last match hero Rohit Sharma who hit 39 runs. Martin and Andre Russell bowled beautifully took 4-36 and 3-16 respectively.

Fourth one day between India and host West Indies has become dead rubber after visitors won the first 3 ODI's to clinch the series, which will be played on Monday, 13th June, at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, and timing will be 13:00 GMT, 9:00 local, 18:30 IST.

Indian second string team done well to win the series easily and young players shown great strength and character even under pressure, specially Parthiv Patel, Badrinath, Dhawan, Rohit Sharma and Amit Mshra. They will now try to give chance to other players and also eying clean sweep for no.1 ODI ranking.

West Indies on the other hand lost all the matches so far and now to turn the game on their way before its too late and their main problem is top of the order as only Simmons and Sarwan doing well and they need big innings from Pollard while Andre Russell shown great character in the last match with unbeaten 92 runs.

In an exciting low scoring 3rd one day, India beat West Indies by 3 wickets and seal the 5 match series by 3-0 with the performances from lower order from both sides. Rohit Sharma, Bhajji and Praveen Kumar played well in the win while Baugh and Andre Russell who got Man of the Match for his 92 not out runs in their unsuccessful try.

World champions India won the 5 match series by 3-0 by winning the 3rd one day by 3 wickets in a low scoring match with 22 balls remaining against host West Indies on Saturday, 11th June, 2011 at Antigua. WI made 225/8 in 50 overs and IND made 228/7 in 46.2 overs.

West Indies lost 1st wicket early but Simmons 45 runs and Sarwan 28 took them to 65/1 in 15 overs and they they collapsed and struggling at 96/7 in 30 overs as Mishra and Munaf took 3 wickets each. Andre Russell thne played best inning of his life with 64 balls 92 unbeaten runs with 8 fours and 5 sixes and took them to a respectable total of 225/8, well supported by Baugh with 36 runs.

India then lost 2 early wickets but Patel hit 46 runs and tookthe score to 60 runs but again they lost quick wickets and reduced to 92/6 in 22 overs. Rohit Sharma who made match winning unbeaten 86 runs off 91 balls first put 88 runs with Harbhajan who made 41 runs and then unbeaten 48 runs with Praveeen Kumar 25 runs to seal the victory and the series as well.
