India won Test Series by 1-0 after 2nd Test Drawn

India won the 2 match test seies by 1-0 against England after 2nd match ended in a boring draw on 5th and final day at Chandigadh, Mohali on Tuesday, 23rd December, 2008. India won the 1st test at Chennai last week and thus won the short match series.

5th day also got delayed due to fog as both Yuraj and Gambhir started positively scored quick runs but India delayed in declaration for the centuries of Yuraj and Gambhir but unfortunately the both out on 86 and 97 runs respectively and India declared their inning on 251/7. India set a traget of 403 runs in 44 overs possible on the last day of the match.

England then payed safely with the loss of cook's wicket and ended the day on 64/1. England lost the series but they played well and appreciated their return to India after Mumbai Terror attack.

Gautam Gambhir declared Man of the Match for his innings of 179 and 97 runs while Zaheer Khan awarded Man of the Series for its fine bowling in the series specially reverse swing.

On the 4th day of second and final test match between India and England, only 60 overs of play was possible due to heavy fog in the morning and bad ligh in the evening at Chandigadh, Mohali. India lead by 285 runs with 6 wickets remaining on the final day.

England just added 20 more runs in 1st inning total on the 4th day morning as Harbhajan Singh wrapped up by picking 3 wickets and Zaheer took 1 wicket. ngland all out on 302 runs giving India a crucial 151 runs 1st inning lead.

India in reply started well but quick wickets of Sehwag and Dravid moved them on back foot and they played realy slow scored 134 runs in 50 overs of play and only Yuraj Singh played some shorts in his run a ball 39 runs. Gambhir is playing on unbeaten 44 runs off 149 balls.

The match is heading for a draw depends on how much play possible tomorrow and when India declare their inning in the morning.

In one of the most memorable and great inning by Sachin Tendulkar, his 41st tset century helps India to register a famous and historic win in the first test match against England at Chennai on Monday, 15th December, 2008. Tendulkar along with Yuraj who scored unbeaten 85 runs chased 287 runs in the 4th inning on 5th and final day of the match.

India moved away the fiery start given by Sehwag yesterday and started the 5th day with the fall of two quick wickets of Dravid failed again and Gambhir scored valuable 66 runs. Match was evenly poised when Laxman out and India still needed 163 runs with 6 wickets remaining.

But an unbeaten 5th wicket 163 runs partnership between Tendulkar and Yuraj set a historic win for India as it was the 4th highest 2nd inning chase by any team.

Tendulkar played a very composed inning on his way to 41st hundred 103 not out off 196 balls with 9 fours while Yuraj made 85 not out off 131 balls with 8 fours and a six on his comeback test.

on a very interesting 4th day of first test match between India and England at Chennai England set a target of 387 runs and India replied positively made 131/1 at the stumps of day 4 needs another 256 runs on the 5th and final day of the match. Sehwag hit a cracking 83 off just 68 balls to make the match live and interesting.

England started the day from their overnight score of 172/3 and reached 277 runs as both Strauss and Collingwood hit centuries, 108 runs each. This was Strauss 2nd century of the match followed by 1st inning's 123 runs. England declared soon after tean on 311/9 and set a target of 387 runs. Harbhajan, Amit Mishra took 3 wickets each while Zaheer Khan took 2 wickets.

England is in a good position after scoring 300 plus runs and took 6 wickets on the 2nd day of the 1st test match against India at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on Friday, 12th December, 2008. England made 316 in the 1st inning nad reduced India to 155/6 at the stupms of day 2.

England started the day from 229/5 and reached to 316 thanks to Matt Prior's unbeaten 35 runs and 28 runs from night watchman Anderson. Amit Mishra and Harbhajn ingh 3 wickets each.

In reply, India Started drastically as they reduced to 37/3 just before tea as debutant Graeme Swann took 2 wickets of Gambhir and Dravid in a over. Tendulkar and Laxman put 61 runs but their departure in consecetive overs put India on the back foot.

India beat England easily by 6 wickets in the 5th ODI at on Wednesday, 26th November, 2008. India won the toss and invited England to bat first in the day-night game. England scored 270 in 50 overs but India chased easily with 38 balls remaining.

England shown their best batting performance of the series, scored 270 runs in 50 overs thanks to Kavin Pietersen's century, scored 111 unbeaten runs off 128 balls with 10 fours and 1 six well supported by Collingwood and Owais Shah 40 and 66 not out runs respectively.

India started brilliantly wit an opening partnership of 136 runs between Sehwag and Tendulkar, scored 91 off just 73 balls with 15 fours and 1 six and 50 runs respectively. But 2 wickets in 2 balls put England back in the game but 94 runs partnership between Dhoni and Raina, scored 50 and 53 runs respectively take India home for the 5-0 lead in the 7 match series.

In a thrilling shortened 5th ODI between India beat England by 40 runs in a day-night game at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore on Sunday, 23rd November, 2008. Match shortened to 22 overs due to rain India made 166/4 in alloted overs and set a target of 198 runs in 22 overs for England as per rules.

India after invited to bat first started well by Tendulkar and Sehwag. Tendulkar went early and after lot of rains in the middle and cut of overs Sehwag played brilliantly with Gambhir scored 79 runs contributed 69 runs and 40 runs respectively. Yuraj also contributed with 25 off just 11 balls and Yusuf Pathan hit last ball six for his 1 ball he played.

England got a revised target of 198 runs in 22 overs to win the match and stay in series started aggressively by Owais Shah who promoted at no. 3 Shah made 72 runs off 48 balls with 9 fours and 3 sixes. Flitoff also hit 41 off 30 balls but after that England not able to maintained required run rate, and at the end made 178/8, but they fought well

Yuraj Singh's 2nd consecetive century in as many matches helped India to win the 2nd ODI against England by 54 runs at Indore on Monday, 17th November, 2008. India won the toss and elected to bat first, scored 292/9 in 50 overs and all out England on 238 runs.

India started badly with 3 quick wickets on 29/3 but 134 runs 4th wicket partnership between Gambhir and Yuraj, scored 70 runs and 118 runs respectively put them back into the game and a late assault by Yusuf Pathan hit 50 runs off just 29 balls with 2 fours and 4 six.

Yuvraj is in great form in his 2nd back to back hundred 118 runs off 122 balls with 15 fours and 2 sixes continuing from his 1st match of 138 runs. Yuraj also took 4 wickets and was enough to take 2nd man of the match award.

England never in the position to chase down required runs as they lost wickets at regular intervals. 96 runs 2nd wicket and 74 runs 4th wicket partnership made some hope but Yuraj got Flintoff and Pietersen in the same over demolished their chances.

Yuraj Singh's 138 runs in just 78 balls set a crushing win for India against England in the 1st ODI on Friday, 14th Nov, 2008 at Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Ground, Rajkot. England won the toss and invited India to bat 1st and scored 387/5 in 50 overs and restricted England to 229 all out.

India got a flurring start with the openaers Sehwag and gambhir put 127 runs in just 20 overs with Sehwag hit 85 runs off 73 balls with 10 fours and 3 sixes and Gambhir scored 51 runs.

But the real push was from Yuraj Singh as he was in brilliant form and hit fastest ODI century against England with 16 fours and 6 sixes. This is also the highest run against England.

In reply Zaheer khan push England on the back foot with 3 wickets and the reduced to 76/5 but Pietersen and Bopara shown some fight with hal centuries, but all out on 229 runs in 37.4 overs.

India won the 4th and final test match by 172 runs on the 5th day and hence the series and Border Gavaskar Trophy by 2-0 on Monday, 10th November, 2008 at Nagpur. Chasing a target of 382 runs to retain the trophy http://cancunallinclusivevacation.net/ bowled out on 209 runs before tea.

http://cancunallinclusivevacation.net/ started the chase from 13/0 and soon reduced to 50/2 but Hayden was in good form and fought well with 77 runs and after that Australian collpased and all out on 209 runs in 50.2 overs.

This is India's first series win over Australia in eight years and regained the coveted Border-Gavaskar trophy. India also won the 2nd match at Mohali. Indian spinners Harbhajan and Amit Mishra bowled superbly took 4 and 3 wickets respectively.

Dhoni let the Saurav Ganguly, playing his last test as a tribute to captain the side and that was a defining spirit for the game and Indian cricket.

Debutant Jason KKrejza awarded Man of the Match for his 12 wickets in the match and Ishanth Sharma has won the car for Man of the Series.

4 match series between India and Australiaa still in the interesting stage for the final day of the series as India set a target of 382 runs for Australia to win this Test match and retain the Border Gavaskar Trophy in maximum 91 overs. India made 295 runs in the 2nd inning and 86 runs 1st inning lead.

India got a cracking start as Sehwag and Vijay put 116 runs 1st wicket partnership in 28 overs before middle order collapsed and reduced to 166/6. But a fine partnership of 108 runs between skipper Dhoni and Harbhajan put India in a safe position. Unfortunately Saurav Ganguly out on a duck in his last inning.

Australia have a chanse to win this test and level the sries and retain the trophy. Krejza and Watson bowled well and took 4 wickets each. Krejza finished his debut Test with figures of 12 for 358.

India put the pressure back on the world champion Australia by taking a crucial 86 runs 1st inning lead at the stump of day 3 of the 4th and final test match in Nagpur. India bowled out Australia on 355 just before the stumps and were zero without loss in the 2nd inning with 2 days left.

Australia started the day from 189/2 but allowed to scored only 45 runs in the first session of the day due to discipline off side bowling with packed off side fielding. Katich completed his century but departed soon and three quick wickets in 2nd session and Hussey run out on 90 put Australian on the back foot.

For India, Harbhajan Singh took 3 wickets, Sharma nad Mishra took 2 wickets each and Zaheer Khan took 1 and two brilliant run outs by debutant M Vijay.

Tendulkar finally hit a century after a long time on the first day of the fourth and final test match against Australia at Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground, Nagpur. India were 311 for 5 at the stumps of day 1.
