Opening match of Compaq Cup tri series will be played between host Sri Lanka and New Zealand on Tuesday, 8th September, 2009 at Premadasa stadium, Colombo in a day-night game starting from 14.30 local, 9.00 GMT, 14.30 IST.
Sri Lanka won the test series comfortably by 2-0 but lost the T20 series by 2-0, and now they are looking forward in one days. Muralitharan will be doubtful for 1st game while Thilan Thushara will come back after missing T20.
New Zealand is high on confidence after back to back wins in twenty2o, but its all different ball game. Good news is that Brandon McCullum is back in form while Nathan McCullum is also doing well.
