After 3 matches with each team won 1 game, host Sri Lanka and New Zealand will meet in the 2nd round, 4th match of Micromax tri-series on Thursday, 19th August, 2010 at at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in a day night game and timing will be 09:00 GMT, 14:30 local, 14:30 IST.

Sri Lanka already beat New Zealand in this series and they will have psychological advantage as the race for the final will be tough. After Randiv's controversy for denying Sehwag to complete his century with a no ball, Sri Lanka will try to show some good show. They are currently at the bottom place and they have to win this match to avoid early elimination. Randiv won't play due to 1 match ban on him replaced by Rangna Herath.

New Zealand leading the points table thanks to bonus point 200 runs win over India in the 1st match. New Zealand lost their last match to Sri Lanka and if they win with a bonus point they will qualify for the final and for that they have to come good with the bat.

Host Sri Lanka and in-form New Zealand will meet in the 2nd ODI of Micromax Tri-Series on on Friday, 13th August, 2010 at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in a day night game and timing will be 09:00 GMT, 14:30 local, 14:30 IST.

Sri Lanka lost the Asia Cup final against India here and will try to compensate in this series. Dilshan, Sanga and Jayawardhane aree all in good form but they will miss Muralitharan who is rested for this series.

New Zealand on the other hand will be high on confidance after huge 200 runs win with a bonus point over India and they will try to retain thier form. New captain Ross Taylor led from the front with 95 runs and fast bowlers Tuffey, Mills and Oram bowled really well under lights.

New Zealand beat India bu a huge margin of 200run sin the opening game of Micromax tri series on Tuesday, 10th Ausgust 2010.







IND v NZL Triseries 1st ODI Result - New Zealand crushed India by 200 runs


New Zealand crushed favorite India by by their biggest margin of 200 runs in the 1st match of Micromax Tri Series on Tuesday, 10th August, 2010 at Dambulla. NZL made 288 in 48.5 overs and Ind all out on 88 runs in 29.3 overs.

New Zealand after reduced to 28/3 fought back with 190 runs partnership between new captain Ross Taylor and Scott Styris in 31 overs made 95 and 89 runs respectively to set a huge total of 288 runs. India then started well with 39 runs opening stand but then all out on 88 runs and lost by 200 runs, their biggest defeat against New Zealand.

New Zealand - 288 all out in 48.5 overs (Taylor 95, Styris 89, Nehra 4-47, Praveen 3-43)

India - 88 all out in 29.3 overs (Tuffey 3-34, Mills 2-26, Oram 2-15)

India and New Zealand will meet in the opening match of Micromax tri nation series on Tuesday, 10th August, 2010 at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in a day night game and timing will be 09:00 GMT, 14:30 local, 14:30 IST.

India will be high in confidance after levelling the test series coming from behind but this is all different ball game. Dinesh Karthik will open the inning with Sehwag and in the absance of Tendulkar, there will be extra responsibilty on Kohli, Raina, Yuvraj, Rohit and Jadeja. Ishant Sharma is ruled out due to ankle injury.

New Zealand will be without their key player Brandon McCullum and Daniel Vettori. Ross Taylor and Jessee Ryder will be key in their progress in this series. 20 year old Kane Williamson will likely make his debut.

New Zealand took a full control of the match as they bowled out India on 305 runs in the 1st inning with a lead of 314 runs and forced follow-on and again took Sehwag's wicket leaving visitors a huge task to save second test match with 2 days to go.

India started the 3rd day +vely as Dravid who scored 83 runs put a partnership of 87 runs with Tendulkar, scored 49 runs and then 80 runs partnership with VVS Laxman scored 76 runs. India lost their last 4 wickets for just 35 runs as Yuraj Singh out for duck and bundled out for 305 runs.

Vettori has not hesitation of follow-on and rewarded back with the wicket of dangerous Sehwag again out cheaply. India struggling on 47/1 at the stump of day 3 trailing by 267 runs.

New Zealand 1st Inning - 619/9 dec. in 154.4 overs.

India 1st Inning -

New Zealand bounced back strongly after reduced to 23/3 on the first day of second test match and took total control with 351/4 against India at the stumps of day1 at McLean Park, Napier on Thursday, 26th March, 2009. Ross Taylor and Jesse Ryder scored 151 and 137 not out respectively.

New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first and was struggling at 23/3 in 10 overs but a superb 271 runs fourth wicket partnership between Taylor and Ryder scored 151 off just 204 balls with 26 fours and a six and 137 not out off 220 ball with 17 fours and a six, put hosts in a strong position at the end of day 1.

India has been disappointing after a good start by Zaheer and Ishanth took 2 and 1 wickets each but they lost the momentum after a superb stand by Ryder and Taylor.

India clearly looking strong and the proved in 1st test as their bowlers and batsmen outperformed hosts. They will probably retain the winning team as Tendulkar, Gambhir, Dravid, Seheag and Dhoni batting well while Zaheer, Ishanth, Munaf and Harbhajan bowling beautifully.

New Zealand have all the pressure to level the series and make it alive before going to final test. They have to perforn extraordinary to bounce back in the series in all the department. Oram is out due to injury and Jamie How will be in if Daniel Flynn won't recover from injury.

Two superb centuries from New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori and Jesse Ryder pulled host from 60/6 to a respectable total of 279 runs on the 1st day of the first test match against India on Wednesay, 18th March at Hamilton.

India won the toss and elected to bowl first and pushed back New Zealand to 60/6 thanks to fine bowling by seamers Zaheer, Ishanth and Munaf Patel took 2 and 3 wickets each respectively.

New Zealand struggling on 60/6 at lunch fought back well thanks to 7th wicket record partnership of 186 runs between captain Vettori and Ryder scored 118 runs with 14 fours and 2 sixes and 102 runs respectively.

India started well and scored 29 runs without loss with Sehwag on 22 and Gambhir on 6 not out respectively. Watch out the Indian inning on the 2nd day of 1st test.

New Zealand won the 2 match T20 series by 2-0 but India bounced back and won the 5 match ODI series by 3-1. Now both team shifting their momentum to longest version of the game as 1st test will be played from Wednesday, 18th March to Sunday, 22nd March, 2009 at Hamilton.

Test specialist Rahul Dravid and VVs Laxman will come back in theIndian team to strengthen the middle order while M Vijay will give more opening option other than Gambhir and Sehwag. L Balaji and spinner Amit Mishra will be new bowling options.

After loosing ODI series New Zealand is looking for some pride and regained some pride after a consolation win in the last ODI. James Franklin after a long injury has been included in the team as an all rounder.
