India vs Australia ODI Series - India won the series 1-0, 3rd ODI at Goa called off
Third and final ODI between host India and Australia has been called off and India won the 3 match series by 1-0. Sun was shining on Sunday but heavy rain on entire Saturday made the out field wet and condition was unplayable and after inspection match referee Chris Broad had decided to cancel the match at 12.15pm.This is the first time since the 1979-80 tour Australia going home without a single win in the series as they drew practice match followed by 2-0 test series defeat and they lost the 2nd one day at Vizag as 1st and 3rd ODI abandoned due to rain. They also lost a short tour in 1996 (one Test and one warm-up game) where Australia drew the tour game and lost the Test.
The wash-out means there was no post match ceremony, no Man of the Series award and no handing of trophy.
India will now play 3 match test series and 5 ODI's against New Zealand starting from 4th November, 2010. Watch out here for the complete schedule and all other news.
