Sehwag's 74 balls 125 runs sealed India's Series won vs New Zealand


A fiery inning of 125 runs off just 74 balls with 14 fours and 6 sixes helped not only to win the 4th ODI but also sealed series win by 3-0 for India after a long time in New Zealand on Wednesday, 11th March, 2009 at Hamilton. India won the match by 84 runs under Duckworth-Lewis method in a rain interrupted game.

New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first scored 270 runs in 47 overs in a rain shorten match thanks to McCullum and McGlashan scored 77 and 56 not out respectively.

In reply, Sehwag made fastest century by an Indian and the seventh fastest in one-day international history which comes in just 60 balls. In the absence of injured Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir stepped into the opener's role and added 63 runs and put 201 runs unbeaten partnership in just 23.3 overs when rain interrupted for the final time.
