India won the 1st toss and bowl first got the Australias openers early by Nehra and they were struggling on 16/2 after 8 overs but then Clarke and Hussey (69) put 144 runs in 28 overs. India comfortably beat Australia in the 2nd test by 7 wickets on the 5th and final day with much ease against thrilling 1st test and proved they are the no.1 team on Wednesday, 13th October, 2010 at Bangalore. India won the 2 match series by 2-0.

India finished the Australian inning in the morning to 223 runs and set a target of 207 runs in more than 75 overs. India then lost Sehwag early but debutant Pujara who promoted up in the order played brilliantly under pressure with 72 runs off just 89 balls and took the match away from Australians. Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar has won his first ICC award, the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy being elected as Cricketer of the Year during the 2010 ICC Award ceremony in Bangalore. India's Virender Sehwag won the Test Cricketer of the Year award and South Africa's AB de Villiers claiming the ODI player of the Year award.
