Two injured players VVS Laxman and Ishant Sharma put a 81 runs 9th wicket partnership and India clinched an unbelievable victory over Australia by 1 wicket on the 5th and final day of the 1st test on Tuesday, 5th October, 2010 at Mohali. India now leading the 2 match series by 1-0.

India started the 5th day with 161 more runs with 6 wickets in hand but soon thei most trusted batsman Tendulkar out on 38 runs followed by Dhoni, zaheer and Harbhajan and India were struggling on 124/8. But Laxman once again proved the line between win and loss for Australia played brilliantly with injury with another injured bowler Ishant and took the score to 205 runs. Then last man Ojha played crucial inning and helps India with a thrilling historic 1 wicket win.

Zaheer Khan got Man of the Match for his 5 wickets in the 1st inning and 3 wickets in 2nd inning.

India on Top after Watson's Century, Aus 224/5 on Day 1 - Ind vs Aus 1st Test 2nd Day Live Score


India dropped Shane Watson on zero and then 27 and helped him to reach century after removing Katich early but restricted Australia only on 224/5 and ended the day on top at the stump of day 1 in the first test at Mohali.

Australia were well placed on 154/1 after 40 overs but managed only 70 runs in the next 50 overs due to tight bowling by spinners Harbhajan and Ojha. Zaheer Khan was pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets including 2 wickets in 2 overs in the end.

Shane Watson played 279 balls in his century of 101* and played a major role in dropping the run rate. India has a good chance now to wrap up the inning early and then score decent runs.

Indian selectors announced the 15-member team for upcoming 2 match test series against Australia starting from 1st October, 2010. Yuvraj Singh has been dropped, replaced by Saurashtra batsman, Cheteshwar Pujara who has been scoring heavily in domestic and first-class cricket.

Gautam Gambhir, Zaheer Khan, Harbhajan Singh and Sreeshant all missed last series against Sri Lanka due to injury come backs in the team. Karnataka seamer Abhimanyu Mithun, who impressed the team management in Sri Lanka also dropped while Ishant, Pragyan Ojha and Amit Mishra retained their place.

Australian selectors announced 15-member for their 2 match test series against host India in October, 2010 under the captaincy of Ricky Ponting. Dilshan got Man of the Match for his brilliant century while Sehwag got Man of the Series 268 runs in 5 matches and also won a Fiat Linea Car for most admirable player of the series.

Sri Lanka took the revenge of Asia Cup defeat last month as they beat India by 74 runs in the high scoring final of Micromax Tri Series on Saturday, 28th August, 2010 at Dambulla. SRL made 299/8 in 50 overs and IND all out on 225 runs in 46.5 overs.

Sri Lanka got the best opening partnership of the tournament of 121 runs in 20 overs on their way to post highest score of the series 299 runs thanks to Dilshan's superb century 110 runs off 115 balls with 12 fours and a six well supported by captain Sangakkara with 62 balls 71 runs. Only Munaf Patel and Yuvraj Singh bowled well with good economy rate.

India again then got a bad start as Karthik given out wrongly and lost 4 wickets on109 runs before Dhoni and Raina put some resistance. Perera again the destroyer with 3 wickets for 37 runs as only Dhoni put some fight with 67 runs.

In a must win 6th and final ODI of Micromax tri-series, India easily beat New Zealand by 105 runs to make it yet another final with Sri Lanka on Saturday, 28th August, 2010 at Dambulla. IND all out on 223 in 46.3 overs and NZL all out on 118 runs in 30.1 overs.

India got a poor start, struggling at 66/4 but 107 runs 5th wicket partnership between Dhoni 38 and Sehwag who hit brilliant century in difficult condition with 110 runs off 93 balls with 16 fours and 1 six to get a respectable total of 223. New Zealand then also got bad start and reduced to 52-7 after 20 overs and finally bowled out on before some quick runs by Mills.

Host Sri Lanka came back strongly after no ball controversy and beat India with a bonus points by 8 wickets with 209 balls remaining and booked thier place in the final of icromax tri-series on Sunday, 22nd August, 2010 at Dambulla. IND all out on 103 runs in 33.4 overs and SRL made 104/2 in 15.1 overs.

India won the toss 1st time in this series but it was unlucky as they bwoled out on 103 runs due to poor batting and superb bowling by Thisara Perera who took 5 wickets for 28 runs. Sri Lanka then chased the runs in just 15.5 overs to take the bonus point.
