Indian Team, Squad for Asia Cup 2010 - Sachin rested, Saurabh Tiwary in, Yuvraj, Pathan out

Indian selectors announced team on Monday, 7th June for Asia Cup 2010 starting from 15th June, and requested Sachin Tendulkar on his request and included Jharkhan and Mumbai Indians batsman Saurabh Tiwary in the 15-man squad.

Other big changers are exclusion of Yuvraj Singh who is struggling with wrist injury and Yusuf Pathan who hasn't been able to replicate his IPL success in international cricket. Zaheer, Harbhajan, Sehwag, Gambhir, Praveen Kumar and Nehra returns in the team.

Ashok Dinda and R Ashwin retained their place from the team toured Zimbabwe. Saurabh Tiwary performed well in IPL3 with 3 half centuries while scored three centuries in five games at an average of 98.83 in Ranji Trophy for Jharkhand.

Pakistan selectors recalled two Shoaibs, Akhtar and Malik for the upcoming Micromax Asia Cup 2010 in Sri Lanka. Akhtar was out of action for last 1 year while Malik was banned for 1 year by PCB but last month judicial judgment allowed him to play again for country.

Many new faces Shahzaib Hasan, who played in T20 World Cup 2010, Umar Amin and Asad Shafiq has been included in the ODI team for the first time.

Zimbabwe once againt too good for India as they beat in a successive match and this time with a bonus point as they won by 7 wickets with 70 balls remaining in the 4th ODI of Micromax Triangular Series on Thursday, 3rd June, 2010 at Harare.

India got a 58 runs opening partnership but in 16 overs as Vijay made 21 runs off 56 balls as India struggled once again of good bowling by Zimbabwe bowlers as only Jadeja hit 51 runs as India managed only 194/9 in 50 overs. India bounced back from the defeat against Zimbabwe in the 2nd game of Micromax tri-series as they beat Sri Lanka comfortably by 7 wickets with 39 balls remaining on Sunday, 30th May, 2010 at Bulawayo. SL all out on 242 in 49.5 overs and Ind made 243/3 in 43.3 overs.

India opted to bowl and bowlers bowled really well to restrict Sri Lanka on 242 as only Mathews hit 75 runs while captain Dilshan back in form with 61 runs while Dinda, Ojha and Jadeja took 2 wickets each. India then ride on the 154 runs 3rd wicket partnership between Kohli 82 and Rohit who hit unbeaten century 101 runs off 100 balls.

In a flat wicket host Zimbabwe beat India easily by six wickets with 10 balls remaining in the opening game of Micromax Triangular series on Friday, 28th May, 2010 at Bulawayo. Ind made 285/5 in 50 overs and Zim made 289/4 in 48.2 overs.

India got a good start with 56 runs by openers in 9 overs and then reduced to 61-3 and but then Rohit Sharma hit a century 114 runs and put 67 runs with Raina first and 132 runs with Ravinder Jadeja who hit unbeaten run a ball 61 runs to set a competitive total.

Zimbabwe
also started well 88 runs opening partnership and due to poor bowling buy Indians and good batting by Taylor 8i runs and 60 balls unbeaten 67 runs by Ervine set a thumping win for war hit nation.

India announced their 2nd string team for tri-series against Sri Lanka and host Zimbabwe starting from 28th May, 2010 under the captaincy of Suresh Raina as regular captain Dhoni, Tendulkar, Yuvraj Harbhajan and Zaheer has been rested while Virat Kohli has appointed as vice captain. IPL finder R Ashwin has also included in the team.

In the 3rd and final ODI, South Africa registered a consolidated win against India by 90 runs, while India won the series by 2-1 on Saturday, 27th February, 2010 at Ahmedabad. SA made 265/2 in 50 overs and bowled out India on 275 in 44.3 overs.

South Africa got a fine start and made 265-2 thanks to brilliant performances by Bosman 68, Hashim Aamla 87 and unbeaten centuries by Kallis 104*, and AB de Villiers 102*. India then without their star players bowled out on275in 44.3 overs while Kohli made 57, Rohit Sharma 48 and Raina 49.

AB de Villiers got Man of the Match while Sachin Tendulkar got Man of the Series for his unbeaten double century in 2nd ODI.
