Australia will play 7 match ODI series against one of their toughest rivals India starting from Sunday, 25th October, 2009. Brett Lee back in the team after injury and will be upbeat by his performance in CLT20 where he got the Man of the Match in the Final as well as Man of the Series.

Indian selectors announced team for an important 7 match ODI series against world champions Australia at home starting from Sunday, 25th October, 2009. Selectors dropped experienced Dravid and called back opener Virendar Sehwag and Yuraj Singh in place of Dinesh Karthik and Dravid.

Out of form Yusuf Pathan, Abhishek Nayar and RP Singh also out of team and Sudeeo Tyagi got his maiden call in the national team with Munaf Patel and Ravindar Jadeja.

Compaq Cup Final Result - India beat Sri Lanka by 46 runs, Tendulkar Man of the Match


India finally break the jinx of loosing in the finals and won the Compaq Cup against Sri Lanka by 46 runs in a high scoring thriller on Monday, 14th September, 2009 at Colombo. India made a huge total of 319/5 in 50 overs and SL all out on 273 runs in 46.4 overs.

India won the toss and opted to bat first put 95 runs for the 1st wicket by Tendulkar and Dravid (38), Sachin then put 110 runs with Dhoni (56) and then 71 runs with Yuvraj (56 of 41 balls). Sachin Tendulkar hit his 43rd ODI century with 138 runs of 133 ball with 10 fours and a six.

Sri Lanka also got a good start by Jayasuriya and Dilshan but Harbhajan Singh took 2 wickets and put them on back foot but Kandamby made a fighting 66 runs and put some resistance. Harbhajan Singh took 5 wickets.

Match Summary:

India - 319/5 in 50 overs (Tendulkar 138, Dhoni 56, Yuvraj 56, Thushara 72-2)

Sri Lanka - 273 all out in 46.4 overs (Kandamby 66, Harbhajan 56-5)
