Sri Lanka is in worry as Murali and Mendis are totally ineffective against Indians while Mahroof also struggling. Their Fielding and battting was also not upto the mark.

Two sparkling centuries from Yuraj Singh and Virendar Sehwag helped India won the third ODI as well as taken unbeatable lead of 3-0 in the 5 match series on Tuesday, 3rd February, 2009 at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. India won 3rd ODI by 147 runs.

India won the toss again and elected to bat first and reduced to 24/2 but a 221 run partnership between Sehwag made 116 runs off 90 balls with 17 fours and Yuraj, made 117 runs off 95 balls with 17 fours and a six helped India to score a huge traget of 363 in 50 overs thanks to hard hitting by Yusuf Pathan in the end scored 59 off just 38 balls.

Sri Lankas only way of celebration was Muralitharan's record of equalling Wasim Akram's highest ODI wickets with 502. Only Sangakkara made clasy 83 runs in the chase and all out on 216 in 41.4 overs.

Match Summary:

India - 363/5 in 50 overs.

Sri Lanka - 216 all out in 41.4 overs.

Toss - India, who chose to bat first.

Result - India won by 147 runs.

Third ODI between India and Sri Lanka will be played on Tuesday, 3rd February, 2009 at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo in a day-night game from 14.30 local and 9.00 GMT. India leading the 5 match series by 2-0.

India is clear favorite for winning the match and they are aying to wrap up the series here only. India won 7 consecutive matches and they will try to keep winning momentum as all players are in great form. Balaji is replaced by injured Munaf Patel but they will probably retain the same team.

Sri lanka has to win this ODI in order to stay in the series. They fought well in last match but didn't able to finish the match.

India won the second ODI in a thrilling encounter by just 15 runs against Sri Lanka on Saturday, 31st January, 2009 at Colombo under lights. India now leading the 5 match series by 2-0.

Indian captain won 7th continuous toss against Sri Lanka and elected to bat first, gota flying start as they reached 62 runs in 9 overs thanks to Sehwag and Gambhir. Yuraj and Raina added the momentum but they calloapsed in last overs to manage only 256/9 in 50 overs around 30 to 4o runs short.

In reply Sri Lanka reduced to 36/3 but 100 run partnership between Jayawardhane and Kandamby put back in contest, scored 52 and 93 not out but unable to finish the match and short by 15 runs. Ishanth took 4 crucialwickets.

Sri Lanka - 241 all out in 49.2 overs.

India is clear favorite for tomorrows game as entire team is in great form and they won 1st ODI convincingly and explosie batsman Sehwag will come back in place of Rohit Sharma.

Sri Lanka on the other hand in worry as spinner duo of Murali and Mendis took only 1 for 99 in 20 overs. They retain the same team despite loss in Dambulla.
