South African bowlers took only 6 overs to remove the remaining 2 Indian wickets and won the 1st test match by an inning and 25 runs as master blaster Sachin Tendulkar looking at the other corner helplessly with his historic 50th test century and finished on unbeaten 111 runs on Monday, 2oth December, 2010 at Centurion.

India fought well on the 4th day thanks to 172 runs partnership between Tendulkar and Dhoni but departure of captain just before the stumps means only rain can save the visitors but sky was clear and Steyn and Morkel took 1 wicket each today to seal well deserved win.

Jacques Kallis got man of the Match for his maiden unbeaten double century with 201*.

India 1st inning - 136 all out in 38.4 overs (Tendulkar 36, Morkel 5-20, Steyn 3-34)

South Africa 1st inning - 620/4 dec. in 130.1 overs (Kallis 201*, Amla 140, de Villiers 129)

India 2nd inning - 459 all out in 128.1 overs (Tendulkar 111*, Dhoni 90, Gambhir 80, Steyn 4-105)

Result - South Africa won by an inning and 25 runs.

South Africa on top even though Sachin Tendulkar hit historic 50th test century as India were 454/8 at the stumps of day 4 still trailing by 30 runs and only two wickets in hand. India lost 4 early wickets today but Tendulkar and Dhoni put 172-runs stand for the 7th wicket but Dhoni out on 90 runs in the end. It will be a miracle if India can save this match with 2 wickets as their is no support for Sachin at the other end.

Much awaited test series between top two teams India and South Africa is going to start with 1st test starting from Thursday, 16th December, 2010 at SuperSport Park, Centurion and the timing will be 08:30 GMT, 10:30 local, 14:00 IST.

India will be under pressure as being the top test team and they will be tested on fast and bouncy pitch but they have great players like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and Virender Sehwag while Gautam Gambhir is also back in form. Fast bowler Zaheer Khan's to play 1st test is doubtful due to hamstring injury and it will be a big blow for them and if won't fit in time either Umesh Yadav or Jaidev Unadkat replace him.

2nd ranked South Africa will try to take home advantage after failed drawn test series against Pakistan in UAE. Their all batsmen including captain Graem Smith, Hashim Amla, Jacques Kallis and AB de Villiers as they dropped Duminy, Botha and Parnell from 12 man squad. Ryan McLaren or Tsotsobe will fill third seamer with Steyn aand Morkel while Paul Harris will take care of spin.

Indian selectors announced the 17-member test squad for 3 match series in South Africa as first test Starting from 16th December, 2010. All the team is almost same which is playing against New Zealand including M Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara as Zaheer Khan also included after injury in 2nd test.

Saurashtra's fast bowler Jaivdev Unadkat and Umesh Yadav, playing for Vidarbh has impressed selectors during IPL3 also included along with Bengal wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha. Amit Mishra has been dropped.

India won the 2nd test match by an inning and 58 runs against south Africa in a thriller and retained their no.1 test ranking at Eden Gardens Kolkata. Harbhajan Singh took 5 wickets while Hashim Aamla got man of the Match as well as Man o the Series award.

After much drama on the fifth and final day of 2nd test match, India won by an inning and 58 runs just nefore the 2 overs left in the match to over and retained their no. 1 test ranking on Thursday, 18th February, 2010 at the famous Eden Gardens, Kolkata. 2 match series between India and South Africa drawn 1-1.

India needed 7 wickets on the final day and they took 3 wickets easily but Aamla, Indias's main rival in the series shown great resistance as he put 70 runs partnership in 24 overs with Parnell and then almost saved the match with 26 runs for the last wicket with Morkel in 20.4 overs.

Crowd gone mad when Harbhajan Singh took the last wicket of Morkel when only 2 overs left in the match and left Hashim Aamla out of partner at other end as he was unbeaten on 123 runs and played 394 balls.

Hashim Aamla got Man of the Match for centuries in both the inning and also got Man of the Series for 490 run at an average 490.00 with 3 centuries in 3 innings.

South Africa is leading the 2 match series 1-0.

After poor performance in 1st test match at Nagpur against South Africa which India lost by an inning and 6 runs, selectors made 3 changes in the injury hit team.

Suresh Raina will likely his test debut as VVs Laxman failed to be fit in time, Sreesanth who is now fully fit after got injured in Chittagong test and Dinesh Karthik who hit 2 centuries in Duleep trophy final in place of Saha, Sudeep Taygi and Abhimanyu Mithun.

India has to win the second test match at Kolkata to level the series and stay at top of the test ranking.

South Africa beat host India by an inning and 6 runs on the 4th day of 1st test match at Nagpur. Dale Steyn took 10 wickets in the match while Hashim Aamla got man of the match for his 253 not out in 1st inning.

Test no.2 team South Africa beat no.1 test team India by an inning and 6 runs and move one step closer for top spot on Tuesday, 9th February, 2010 at Nagpur. South Africa now leading the 2 match series by 1-0.

India started the day with 66/2 with Tendulkar on 15 and Vijay on 15, trailing by 257 runs. India lost Vijaya nd Badrinath before lunch but Tendulkar and Dhoni 70 runs in 26 runs as Tendulkar completed his 46th century. Zaheer, Harbhajan and saha made some quick runs to avoid inning defeat but felt short by 6 runs.

Dale Steyn bowled beautifully in this match and took 10 wickets in the match. Hashim Aamla got man of the Match for his unbeaten 253 runs in first inning.

Tamil Nadu Batsman S Badrinath included in the team and likely make his debut as 2 batsmen Dravid and Yuvraj out due to injury while Karnataka fast bowler Abhimanyu Mithun will replace injured Sreesanth.
