Indian Captain MS Dhoni hit his 5th ODI century and 1st against Australia with 124 runs off just 107 balls with 9 fours and 3 sixes and guided India to a crushing 99 runs victory over Australia in the 2nd ODI on Wednesday, 28th October, 2009 at Nagpur. & match ODI series is now level by 1-1.

India made 354/7, their highest score against Australia due to good contribution by Sehwag 40 of 31 balls, Gambhir 76 runs and Raina 62 of just 50 balls. Raninder Jadeja took 3 wickets for 35 runs.

Match Summary:

India - 354/7 - 50 ove,(Dhoni 124, Gambhir 76, Raina 62*)

Australia - 255/all out; 48.3 ove,(Hussey 53, Jadeja 3-35)

Toss - Australia, who chose to field.

India lost the 1st ODI by just 4 runs after late fire work by Harbhajan and Indian top order has to perform well in order to come back in the series. India definitely missing Yuraj Singh to finish the game.

Ind vs Aus 1st ODI Result -


In a high scoring thriller in the 1st ODI, Australia beat by host India by just 4 runs on Sunday, 25th October, 2009 at Vadodara. Australia made 292/8 in 50 overswhile India just short with 288/8 in 50 overs.

India were 201/7 after 40 overs but Harbahjan Singh and Praveen Kumar put 84 runs in just 9 runs and got 9 runs to win in the last over but harbhajan got out and India lost by 4 runs.

Match Summary:


Australia- 292/8 in 50 overs (Paine 50, Ponting 74, Hussey 73, Sharma 3-51)

India - 319/5 in 50 overs (Gambhir 68, Harbhajan 49, Lee 1-28)

Indian selectors announced team for an important 7 match ODI series against world champions Australia at home starting from Sunday, 25th October, 2009. Selectors dropped experienced Dravid and called back opener Virendar Sehwag and Yuraj Singh in place of Dinesh Karthik and Dravid.

Out of form Yusuf Pathan, Abhishek Nayar and RP Singh also out of team and Sudeeo Tyagi got his maiden call in the national team with Munaf Patel and Ravindar Jadeja.
