India took a total control in the is test against New Zealand on 3rd day of the match took 242 runs 1st inning lead and also took 3 wickets of New Zealand in the 2nd inning on Friday, 20th March, 2009 at Hamilton.

India started the 3rd day on 278/4 trailing by 1 run and made 520 runs thanks to 42nd century by Sachin Tendulkar who batted beautifully and scored 160 runs off 260 balls with 26 fours and 46 balls 51 runs by Zaheer Khan.

In the 2nd inning New Zealand started poorly lost wicket n the 1st over by a controversial catch involving Tendulkar off Zaheer's bowling. They further reduced to 75/3 on at the stump of day3.

India started their inning slowly on the 2nd day of the 1st test match against New Zealand, scored 249 runs with the loss of 4 wickets and ended the day on 278/4, trailing by just 1 run with 6 wickets remaining, on Thursday, 19th March, 2009 at Hamilton.

India started the 2nd day from 29/0 and lost Sehwag early but 105 runs 2nd wicket partnership between Gambhir and Dravid put India back on the track. Dravid scored 66 runs while Gambhir contributed 72 runs. At the stumps of day2 Tendulkar was playing on 70 along with Yuraj on 8 runs.

For New Zealand only Martin took 2 wickets while all others bowlers are ineffective and they have to take wickets tomorrow to restrict Indian for a huge lead

Two superb centuries from New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori and Jesse Ryder pulled host from 60/6 to a respectable total of 279 runs on the 1st day of the first test match against India on Wednesay, 18th March at Hamilton.

India won the toss and elected to bowl first and pushed back New Zealand to 60/6 thanks to fine bowling by seamers Zaheer, Ishanth and Munaf Patel took 2 and 3 wickets each respectively.

New Zealand struggling on 60/6 at lunch fought back well thanks to 7th wicket record partnership of 186 runs between captain Vettori and Ryder scored 118 runs with 14 fours and 2 sixes and 102 runs respectively.

India started well and scored 29 runs without loss with Sehwag on 22 and Gambhir on 6 not out respectively. Watch out the Indian inning on the 2nd day of 1st test.

First test of the 3 match series India and New Zealandwill be started from Wednesday, 18th March to Sunday, 22nd March,2009 at Seddon Park, Hamilton starting from 11.00 local time, 22.00 GMT.

India last lost a test match against Sri Lanka in August 2008 and since then beat Australia by 2-0 and England by 1-0. India is searching for 1st test win in 40 years after a first ODI series win in New Zealand.

New Zealand won their last test in October 2008 against Bngladesh and they are badly looking for a win against top test team. New Zealand have relatively young side compare to experienced Indian batting lineup.
