India Needs 256 Runs and England Needs 9 Wick to win 1st Test at Chennai

on a very interesting 4th day of first test match between India and England at Chennai England set a target of 387 runs and India replied positively made 131/1 at the stumps of day 4 needs another 256 runs on the 5th and final day of the match. Sehwag hit a cracking 83 off just 68 balls to make the match live and interesting.

England started the day from their overnight score of 172/3 and reached 277 runs as both Strauss and Collingwood hit centuries, 108 runs each. This was Strauss 2nd century of the match followed by 1st inning's 123 runs. England declared soon after tean on 311/9 and set a target of 387 runs. Harbhajan, Amit Mishra took 3 wickets each while Zaheer Khan took 2 wickets.

India replied well as Sehwag hit 68 balls 83 runs with 11 fours and 4 sixes and needs 256 more runs with 9 wickets in hand in 90 overs. Gautam Gambhir is playing on 41 with out of form Rahul Dravid on 2 runs.

So be ready for an exciting day of cricket on the 5th and final day of first cricket match as both team will play for a win at Chennai from 9.30 AM IST.

England is in a good position after scoring 300 plus runs and took 6 wickets on the 2nd day of the 1st test match against India at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on Friday, 12th December, 2008. England made 316 in the 1st inning nad reduced India to 155/6 at the stupms of day 2.

England started the day from 229/5 and reached to 316 thanks to Matt Prior's unbeaten 35 runs and 28 runs from night watchman Anderson. Amit Mishra and Harbhajn ingh 3 wickets each.

In reply, India Started drastically as they reduced to 37/3 just before tea as debutant Graeme Swann took 2 wickets of Gambhir and Dravid in a over. Tendulkar and Laxman put 61 runs but their departure in consecetive overs put India on the back foot.

Yuraj Singh out in the just before the stumps and adds more pressure. Dhoni and Harbhajan playing on 24 and 13 respectively and hope they will do som magic tomorrow.

England won the toss and elected to bat 1st in the 1sta test match against India at on Thursday, 11th December, 2008. Englandd started strongle but managed only England at the stumps of day 1.

Andrew Strauss and Cook put 118 runs first wicket partnership. Cook scored 52 runs while Strauss hit his 13th test century with 123 runs off 133 balls with 15 fours. England were 164/1 before they slumped to 229 for 5 at the end of the day.

For India, Zaheer Khan was the pick of the bowler picked 2 wickets along with Harbhajan Singh who also took 2 wickets. India has to wrap up the England inning early tomorrow to take control of the match.

2nd day match will begin on Friday, 12th December, 2008 at 9.30 AM IST.

India won the 4th and final test match by 172 runs on the 5th day and hence the series and Border Gavaskar Trophy by 2-0 on Monday, 10th November, 2008 at Nagpur. Chasing a target of 382 runs to retain the trophy http://cancunallinclusivevacation.net/ bowled out on 209 runs before tea.

http://cancunallinclusivevacation.net/ started the chase from 13/0 and soon reduced to 50/2 but Hayden was in good form and fought well with 77 runs and after that Australian collpased and all out on 209 runs in 50.2 overs.

This is India's first series win over Australia in eight years and regained the coveted Border-Gavaskar trophy. India also won the 2nd match at Mohali. Indian spinners Harbhajan and Amit Mishra bowled superbly took 4 and 3 wickets respectively.

Dhoni let the Saurav Ganguly, playing his last test as a tribute to captain the side and that was a defining spirit for the game and Indian cricket.

Debutant Jason KKrejza awarded Man of the Match for his 12 wickets in the match and Ishanth Sharma has won the car for Man of the Series.

4 match series between India and Australiaa still in the interesting stage for the final day of the series as India set a target of 382 runs for Australia to win this Test match and retain the Border Gavaskar Trophy in maximum 91 overs. India made 295 runs in the 2nd inning and 86 runs 1st inning lead.

India got a cracking start as Sehwag and Vijay put 116 runs 1st wicket partnership in 28 overs before middle order collapsed and reduced to 166/6. But a fine partnership of 108 runs between skipper Dhoni and Harbhajan put India in a safe position. Unfortunately Saurav Ganguly out on a duck in his last inning.

Australia have a chanse to win this test and level the sries and retain the trophy. Krejza and Watson bowled well and took 4 wickets each. Krejza finished his debut Test with figures of 12 for 358.

India put the pressure back on the world champion Australia by taking a crucial 86 runs 1st inning lead at the stump of day 3 of the 4th and final test match in Nagpur. India bowled out Australia on 355 just before the stumps and were zero without loss in the 2nd inning with 2 days left.

Australia started the day from 189/2 but allowed to scored only 45 runs in the first session of the day due to discipline off side bowling with packed off side fielding. Katich completed his century but departed soon and three quick wickets in 2nd session and Hussey run out on 90 put Australian on the back foot.

For India, Harbhajan Singh took 3 wickets, Sharma nad Mishra took 2 wickets each and Zaheer Khan took 1 and two brilliant run outs by debutant M Vijay.

Australia trailing the series by 1-0 and has to win this match in order to retain Gavaskar Border Trophy and India needs just a draw to clinch the series. So watch for the 4th day match on Sunday, 9th november and see what both team do.

India scored 441 runs thanks to superb inning by Saurav Ganguly, but Australia fight back well to score 189/2 at the stumps of day 2 at Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground, Nagpur. Ganguly scored 85 runs in his last match.

India started the day fromm 311/5 as Dhoni and Gangulyy put 119 runs partnership to take India to 441. Debutant Jason Krejza took 8 wickets in 1st inning.

In reply Australia fought well as they reduced 74/2 but 115 runs unbeaten 3rd wicket partnership between katich and Hussey put them in strong position.

Tendulkar finally hit a century after a long time on the first day of the fourth and final test match against Australia at Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground, Nagpur. India were 311 for 5 at the stumps of day 1.

Tendulkar hit his 4oth test century in the final session of the day scored 109 runs off 188 balls with 12 fours. India won the toss and elected to bat first and got a cracking start as Sehwag and M Vijay put 98 runs in 18 overs.

Sehwag scored 66 runs off 69 balls with 9 fours and 1 six. VVS Laxman playing his 100th test scored 64 runs and put a 146 runs for the third wicket with Tendulkar.

John Krejza took 3 crucial wicket on his debut and make Australia in the math after a good start by India. Australia have to play well tomorrow in order to stay in the match.

India is going in the 4th and final test match with 1-0 lead over world champion Australia, starting from Thursday, 6th November, to Monday, 10yh November, 2008 at Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground, Nagpur at 9.30 local time. This is the last match for Saurav Ganguly.

India's Test captain Anil Kumble announced his sudden retirement from International cricket on Sunday, 2nd November, 2008 after the 3rd test match between India and Australia ended in a draw at Kotla, Delhi. Kotla was the same ground where Kumble took his famous 10 wicket in an inning against Pakistan.

The Indian skipper announced his retirement just before declaring India's second innings on 208 for five, a lead of 244 and given Australia a profilic task of 245 runs in maximum 23 overs. Kumble started with the new ball in the 2nd inning before match ended in a draw.

VVS Laxman announced Man of the Match for his first innings double hundred and an unbeaten half-century in the second earlier on the fifth day. Australia started the morning with 2 quick wickets but Gautam Gambhir (36) and Sachin Tendulkar (47) kept India afloat until Laxman (57 not out) and Sourav Ganguly (32 not out) led India to their declaration total deep into the final session.

Kumble was the second player in history, after Jim Laker, to bag 10 wickets in an inning. He took 619 wickets, in 132 tests, the most among Indians and third on the all-time list. He also led the team in 14 Tests with 3 wins.

Australia replied well in the 1st inning of 3rd test match against India on the 3rd day of the match at Firoz Shah Kotla, Delhi. Australia finished the day with 338/4 still trailing by 275 runs with 6 wickets remaining.

Hayden and Katich put a 123 runs 1st wicket partnership. Katich scored 64 runs, while Hayden contributed 83 runs. Ponting also displayed good batting with 87 runs and Hussey out just before stumps on 53 runs.

It was the tough day for India as Kumble injured and taken to hospital. Virender Sehwag shown some good form with the ball taken three wickets while Mishra took 1.

Gautam Gambhir scored a brilliant unbeaten century on the first day of 3rd test match against Australia at Firoz Shah , Delhi. Gambhir hits 3rd century and playing on 149 runs off 285 balls with 20 fours and 1 six.

India got a disaster start after winning the toss in the morning as they reduced to 27/2 but a solid 130 runs 3rd wicket partnership between Gambhir and Tendulkar, who scored 68 runs put India in a comfortable position.

A fourth wicket unbeaten partnership of 139 runs between Gambhir and Laxman, who is playing on 54 runs put India in a strong position. India will try to make a good 1st inning lead and then put pressure on visitors.

Australia started the day well with two quick wickets by Brett Lee and Johnson but after that a tough day for them. They are trailing the series by 1-0 and will try to take some early wickets tomorrow.

The 2nd day play will start at 9.30 IST on Thursday, 30th October, 2008.

3rd Test match between host India and world champion Australia from Wednesday, 29th October, to 2nd November, 2008 at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi. India leading the 4 match test series by 1-0 with two matches remaining, as 1st match drawn at Bangalore and India won the 2nd test at Mohali by 320 runs.

India will be in difficulty to select playing 11 if captain Anil Kumble will be fit for the tomorrow's match and he will replace Amit Mishra who took 7 wicket in his debut match at Mohali. India will try to wrap up the series at Delhi.
