IND v NZL 1st ODI Result - Kohli and Sreesanth stars in India's 40 runs win
India beat New Zealand by 40 runs in the opening ODI and took the 1-0 lead in 5 match series on Sunday, 28th November, 2010 at Guwahati. IND made 276 runs in 49 overs and NZL made 236 runs in 45.2 0vers.India invited to bat first got a good start by Vijay 29 and Gambhir 38 and then Kohli and Yuvraj 42 put 88 runs for the third wicket and after Virat Kohli hit his 4th ODI century, his 2nd in a row they were looking for a 300+ runs but lower order collapsed and all out on 276 runs. Kohli hit 105 runs off 104 balls with 10 fours while Yusuf Pathan hit 19 balls 29 runs in the end. McKay took 4 wickets for New Zealand.
New Zealand in the reply lost regular wickets as only Ross Taylor made 66 runs in the middle and they were struggling on 169/8 after 35 overs and then Nathan McCullum 35 runs and Mills 32 runs put 67 runs in 10 overs for the 9th wicket and put some fighting the end but Sresanth took both the wickets in 2 balls to give India a 40 runs win.
