Indian Team, Squad for Tri Series in Sri Lanka, Darvid in, Sehwag out

Rahul Dravid, former Indian captain come back in ODI squad after almost 2 years as Indian selectors announced ODI team for tri-series in Sri Lanka including New Zealand and for Champions Trophy in South Africa. Opener Sehwag has not been included in the team as he is not fully recovered from his injury while Rohit Sharma not included due to his poor form.

Sachin Tendulkar returned in the team after rested for West Indies series. Amit Mishra is back in team in place of Pragyan Ojha while Zaheer Khan not considered due to injury.

India won the ODI Series by 2-1 after 4th ODI washed out due to Rain

India clinched the 4 match ODI series by 2-1 against host West Indies, as 4th ODI called off due to heavy rain after just 7.3 overs of play on Sunday, 5th July 2009 at Beausejour Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia. This is the fifth straight ODI series victory for India and only the second in West Indies.

India won the toss and elected to bowl first and Ishanth Sharma took the wicket of danger man captain Chris Gayle on the 2nd ball of the match. Heavy rain started in the 8th overs which forced the match to be called off after just 7.3 overs and West Indies 27/1.

MS Dhoni awarded with Man of the Series for his 182 runs in 3 innings at an average of 91.00 highest in the series.

Match Summary:

West Indies - 27/1 in 7.3 overs.

Toss -India, who chose to bowl first.

Result - No Result - Match abandoned due to rain.

Series Result - India won the 4 match series by 2-1.
