India scored 441 runs thanks to superb inning by Saurav Ganguly, but Australia fight back well to score 189/2 at the stumps of day 2 at Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground, Nagpur. Ganguly scored 85 runs in his last match.

India started the day fromm 311/5 as Dhoni and Gangulyy put 119 runs partnership to take India to 441. Debutant Jason Krejza took 8 wickets in 1st inning.

In reply Australia fought well as they reduced 74/2 but 115 runs unbeaten 3rd wicket partnership between katich and Hussey put them in strong position.

Tendulkar finally hit a century after a long time on the first day of the fourth and final test match against Australia at Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground, Nagpur. India were 311 for 5 at the stumps of day 1.

Tendulkar hit his 4oth test century in the final session of the day scored 109 runs off 188 balls with 12 fours. India won the toss and elected to bat first and got a cracking start as Sehwag and M Vijay put 98 runs in 18 overs.

Sehwag scored 66 runs off 69 balls with 9 fours and 1 six. VVS Laxman playing his 100th test scored 64 runs and put a 146 runs for the third wicket with Tendulkar.

John Krejza took 3 crucial wicket on his debut and make Australia in the math after a good start by India. Australia have to play well tomorrow in order to stay in the match.

India's Test captain Anil Kumble announced his sudden retirement from International cricket on Sunday, 2nd November, 2008 after the 3rd test match between India and Australia ended in a draw at Kotla, Delhi. Kotla was the same ground where Kumble took his famous 10 wicket in an inning against Pakistan.

The Indian skipper announced his retirement just before declaring India's second innings on 208 for five, a lead of 244 and given Australia a profilic task of 245 runs in maximum 23 overs. Kumble started with the new ball in the 2nd inning before match ended in a draw.

VVS Laxman announced Man of the Match for his first innings double hundred and an unbeaten half-century in the second earlier on the fifth day. Australia started the morning with 2 quick wickets but Gautam Gambhir (36) and Sachin Tendulkar (47) kept India afloat until Laxman (57 not out) and Sourav Ganguly (32 not out) led India to their declaration total deep into the final session.

Kumble was the second player in history, after Jim Laker, to bag 10 wickets in an inning. He took 619 wickets, in 132 tests, the most among Indians and third on the all-time list. He also led the team in 14 Tests with 3 wins.
